About the event
A fun, inspiring way to bring some happy back into your heart and get ready for spring. No prior experience required. All (ages) levels welcome. Invite friends and family - - even those in another part of the country.
This hands-on workshop will reignite your creative spark, with gentle seated yoga, soft breathing, simple journaling prompts and art journaling. Art journaling is the process of combining color, images and words onto a page. Most importantly, it differs from scrapbooking because it's about the process, not the outcome. Notice any correlation to that wonderful idea of process vs. outcome - - as it relates to our yoga practice? (Experiencing and honoring a pose in our own body vs. what we 'think' a pose should look like?")
Saturday March 13, 2-4 pm PST LIVE VIA ZOOM
Supplies needed: (this can be as simple as to going to your "craft drawer" and finding some pages in an unused sketchbook, any size.) BUT if you're wanting some guidance and want to have fun choosing supplies from Amazon or Michael's craft store or the Dollar Store, check out this recommended list for art journaling:
-3 of your favorite small acrylic paint colors
-1 used plastic gift card (this is for applying acrylic paint)
-1 Canson (or any brand) XL drawing pad -Â spiral bound preferred (9" x 12", 11" x 14") but consider transportability
-Of course you can choose a smaller spiral bound journal - - it can be fun to "travel" with your art journal
-Washi tape can be fun (a roll or two of any color that you enjoy)
-Pics from magazines, printed off internet, postcards, wrapping paper, cards you've received - images that you love
-Stickers of any kind - pastel or bright, sparkly or neutral, any and all embellishments that make you smile
-Adhesive/Glue - your favorite way of gluing or sticking - - I LOVE TOMBO adhesives and dispensers
-Markers - at least 1 sharpie for permanent outlining, lettering and writing
-Waxed paper (hopefully you have this on hand)
-Scissors
